Latest Episodes
Episode 131: Is Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (aka SIBO) the Cause of Your IBS?
In this episode, Dr. Lisa and Dr. Toni discuss how small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (aka SIBO) can be an undiagnosed cause for IBS and digestive issues (such as gas, bloating, heartburn, nausea and irregular stools).
Up to 84% of people with IBS also have SIBO, so it’s thought to be an underlying cause. SIBO occurs when abnormally high numbers of bacteria found in the small intestine produce excess amounts of gas which leads to bloating, pain, constipation and/or diarrhea, nutrient deficiencies and more.
Listen in to discover how to test for it and what you can do about it.
